IHRA: Plenty of progress at Dragway 42

This past season, Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio, was scheduled to host a round of the IHRA Drag Racing Series, but the event was canceled after weather forced the delay of some major improvements at the facility.

We're happy to say that judging from information and photos posted on Dragway 42's web site and Facebook page, much of that major work has either been completed, or is nearing completion, with some of the work even occurring under the lights.

Concrete is going down here at 42!Posted byDragway 42onFriday, November 18, 2016

With lots of concrete and 3,200 feet of polymer-infused asphalt mix, it's obvious that the track, already one of the nicer IHRA facilities, is taking it to the next level.

Dragway 42 opened in 1957, but it doesn't look its age. Grandstands from Daytona International Speedway have been constructed, and Musco lighting will illuminate the track and the grounds.

No word yet on the IHRA schedule for 2017 there, but we can't wait to see the new Dragway 42. Log on to
