IMSA: Shank P2 tops fourth straight Petit practice

Practice for Petit Le Mans has become an all-Michael Shank Racing affair. With Olivier Pla's monster lap in the No. 60 Ligier JS P2-Honda (1m12.618s) as an indicator of what might be coming in qualifying later today, Tristan Nunez in the No. 55 Mazda Prototype (-0.893s) and Pipo Derani in the No. 2 Tequila Patron ESM Ligier JS P2-Honda (-1.036s) will have a lot of work to do to displace MSR.

The fastest Daytona Prototype, piloted by Ryan Dalziel, was fourth (-1.452s).

PC had a new session leader with James French in the No. 38 Performance Tech Motorsports entry (1m15.925s). Tom Kimber-Smith in the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports PC (-0.443s) and David Heinemeier Hansson No. 8 Starworks Motorsport car (-0.577s) completed the top three.

GT Le Mans was headed by Scuderia Corsa's Daniel Serra in the No. 68 Ferrari F488 GTE (1m17.693s) and his stablemate Toni Vilander followed in second with the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F488 GTE (-0.202s). Ford Chip Ganassi Racing's Richard Westbrook was third in the No. 67 Ford GT (-0.213s).

The session, which gave teams the final opportunity to try setup changes before this afternoon's run for the pole, was closed with Magnus Racing's Andy Lally in the No 44 Audi R8 LMS GT3 (1m20.430s) as the fastest GT Daytona entry.

Riley Motorsports' Jeroen Bleekemolen was second in the No. 33 Dodge Viper GT3-R (-0.131) and Madison Snow made a move in the No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 to claim third (-0.179).
