IHRA: Throwback Thursday - 2012 IHRA Race of Champions

We spend a lot of time with the IHRA Pro categories, but let's face it: The IHRA is built on the support of the Saturday night racer – the people who sacrifice each week to keep their dragsters running right.

Here's a four-hour look at the 2012 IHRA Race of Champions, held in October at Memphis International Raceway. There are rail dragsters and pickup trucks and Mustangs and Camaros and 1955 Chevys and Juniors – just like a day at your local drag strip should be.

But these racers are competing for a bigger win, in front of a bigger audience. Figure on fast-forwarding a lot in this one, but it's a great primer on the best of IHRA grassroots competition.
