IHRA: Summit SuperSeries twin dragster builds set for Memphis

As the Summit World Finals at Memphis International Raceway approaches – it's Oct. 20-22 – one of the IHRA's most popular promotions ever is back: The Summit SuperSeries twin dragster builds.

The Summit SuperSeries Top champ will win a turnkey racecar, built with parts and expertise from many of the IHRA's top partners. And if that isn't enough – the Junior Dragster champion wins a new car, too.

A sample of the suppliers:

  • Trick Flow, the Ohio company that deals in engines and components, will supply the powerplant for the Modified winner's dragster.
  • Imagine That of Maryland, creator of some of the most distinctive paint jobs to ever hit the quarter-mile, will handle the finish on both cars.
  • American Race Cars, one of the leading constructors in the Midwest, is in charge of building the full-sized dragster.
  • And JR Race Cars, the Colorado top-to-bottom builder and supplier of championship Junior Dragsters, will be heading up construction of that car.

As you can imagine, the twin dragsters are rolling promotional platforms for the suppliers, the constructors and for the IHRA as well, so you know every aspect of the two cars is top-notch. While the program has been in place for several years – that's the 2013 dragster in the photo above – this year, we'll be presenting even more detailed information on the dragster builds than ever before. Stay tuned!
