INDYCAR: Wheldon memorial kart race moved to '17
The annual Dan Wheldon Memorial Pro-Am Karting Race, which usually runs in the fall, is being postponed until 2017, Holly Wheldon said Thursday.
"A few of you have been asking about when the Dan Wheldon Memorial kart race is happening this year," Wheldon said on Twitter. "We've decided to take a year off but don't worry we're back in 2017 for more."

The Sept. 19, 2015 race was renamed to honor Justin Wilson, who died a few weeks prior when he was hit in the head by debris during the Pocono race. The third annual Dan Wheldon Memorial Pro-Am Karting Race, shortened to a one-hour endurance event due to rain showers earlier and won by Scott Dixon, featured 17 four-person Pro Am teams headed by veterans of the Verizon IndyCar Series and Mazda Road to Indy and pro drivers.
Proceeds from the event benefit The Dan Wheldon Foundation and Alzheimer's Association, and last year included the Wilson Children's Fund.
