F1: Vettel offers glimpse of 2017 in tire test

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel has started the next phase of Pirelli's 2017 tire testing, and offered a hint of how Formula 1 will look next year with wider tires and revamped aerodynamics.
Vettel is driving a version of Ferrari's 2015 SF15-T modified to match the increased levels of downforce forecast to be generated by F1's new rules package. The German is testing intermediate and wet tires at Fiorano on Monday, but started his day with installation laps on slick rubber.
Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez will to continue the wet-weather program in the Ferrari on Tuesday, before work on dry tires starts in earnest at Mugello on Wednesday with Sebastien Buemi and Red Bull.
A total of 10 sessions and 24 will be run with Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes between now and a test following the Abu Dhabi season finale in November.
