F1: Pirelli announces Mexican GP tire plans

Pirelli has added the super-soft tire to the options for Formula 1's Mexican Grand Prix in late October.
For F1's return last year to Mexico City's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez following a 23-year absence, Pirelli selected the soft and medium compounds. For this year's race from Oct. 28-30, those two compounds are again available, along with the super-soft.
The Italian's manufacturer decision to make the medium, soft and super-soft available at a grand prix is the most popular combination, with Mexico to be the 11th occasion in 19 races they have been selected.
Pirelli has declared one set of the medium or soft must be used at some stage during the 71-lap race. It has also nominated one set of the super-soft tire to be used in the final part of qualifying.
Teams are then free to choose the remaining 10 sets as they see fit over the course of the weekend.
