Brand-New IMSA.com Debuts Featuring Improved Performance, Navigation-98979
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 23, 2016) – A new online home for North America’s premier professional road racing sanctioning body is now open, as the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today launched a brand-new IMSA.com.
The most substantial new feature longtime IMSA.com visitors will notice is the home page, which now serves as a portal to all seven IMSA-sanctioned racing series. Up-to-the-minute news from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Mazda Prototype Lites presented by Cooper Tires, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo and Ferrari Challenge all will be featured on the front page “rotator.”
The improved navigation provides direct access to each series through a single click via tabs along the top of each page on the site. Additionally, IMSA.tv is now the online channel for all IMSA video content. It features video-on-demand of full race broadcasts and other featured video content, but transforms on race weekends to feature live streaming video, acting as an improved Race Central.
Driver and team pages also have been greatly enhanced and are now fully integrated. The pages include striking images and graphics, complete points and per-race performance tables, comprehensive biographical information and links to the latest team and driver news.
“Today’s launch of the new IMSA.com is the culmination of a project more than a year in the making,” said IMSA Vice President, Marketing David Pettit. “We started with consumer research to fully understand what our fans wanted, such as the timing & scoring results and points standings being front and center. We then went to great lengths to develop a site that is intuitive for users and gives us the appropriate platform to provide our fans the information and content they want. This website accomplishes that goal. It offers something for everybody in an easy-to-use format, whether you’re a long-time fan, first-time visitor or an IMSA stakeholder or competitor.”
For new fans, a “Discover” section has been created with educational content to help fans understand the sport. The site also includes full integration of IMSA’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds, easy access to ticket and television broadcast information for all events, as well as brand new portals for IMSA competitors and media. It also has been optimized to improve stability for the IMSA Mobile App, which also rolled out a substantial update for users.
The new IMSA.com was developed by BigWheel, based in Knoxville, Tennessee, whose clients include General Motors, NASCAR and several television networks such as FOX Sports, ABC and NBC Universal. The updated IMSA Mobile App also is available now for iOS, Android and Windows devices. The new mobile app update now allows fans the ability to create a single username and password to be used across devices, as well backend enhancements to improve stability.
Next up for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevrolet Dealers at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park on Saturday, June 4. The 100-minute race for the Prototype, Prototype Challenge and GT Daytona classes will be televised live on FS1 beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.
