After three practice sessions and one qualifying, the no. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTLM will start the car from the fifth position on the grid for Sunday's Continental Monterey Grand Prix Powered by Mazda race, May 1 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.Toni Vilander was the Risi qualifying driver today and clocked a time of 1:23.399 at 96.605 mph. He will be starting driver for Round 4 of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series race tomorrow at 11:15 a.m PDT. Former Formula 1 ace Giancarlo Fisichella will co-drive in the two-hour Prototype/GTLM-only class sprint race on the 2.24-mile, 11-turn road course on the Monterey hills.Rick Mayer, Risi Competizione Race Engineer:"Obviously we wish qualifying would have gone better for us but I think we have a good race car. We'll work out some strategy and come back for the race."Toni Vilander, driver, No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTLM:"It's been a pretty typical weekend, apart from the fact that overall the Ferrari are way more competitive here now. We got the new Michelin tire compounds, but it's the same for everybody because everybody got the new tires. For us it's an improvement on pace. But then our pace can stay the same and others may improve a little bit. For qualifying, congratulations to Daniel Serra and Scuderia Corsa for great work on getting the pole. We will keep working to try to improve and let's see what happens in tomorrow's two hour race."Giancarlo Fisichella, driver, No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTLM:"We expected a little bit better qualifying today. Obviously the gap is quite close. Let's see tomorrow if it's better. We want to get on the podium for sure."
