
IHRA: Another double for Logan Westmoreland
Junior Beginner Logan Westmoreland from Greenwood, South Carolina, did the double at the Orlando Summit Pro-Am Tour at Orlando SpeedWorld this past weekend.
Westmoreland came into the event with a 46-point lead in the Division 2 Heat Wave standings by putting up wins in Bradenton, and scoring another double win weekend at the South Georgia Summit Pro-Am event earlier in the season.
Other notable finalists included Stock leader Myron Piatek, who came into the weekend with a 33-point lead over Jim Wahl. Piatek was runner-up on Sunday while Wahl captured the win during Saturday's event.
In other classes:
• Top Sportsman: Matthew Buck of Lantana, Florida, won over Mike Forsythe of Middleburg, Florida.
• Top Dragster: Paul Rebis of Thomotoassa, Florida won over Joseph Bagwell of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
• Super Stock: Emory Piermont of Cartersville, Georgia, won over Eric Raymer of Orlando.
• Quick Rod: Tim Nimmo of Lake Worth, Florida won over Frank Altilio of Apopka, Florida.
• Stock: Daniel Young of Palm Harbor, Florida won over Myron Piatek of Holly Hill, Florida.
• Super Rod: Michael Ruff of Orlando won over David Passanati of Naples, Florida.
• Hot Rod: Ernest Griggs of Ocala, Florida won over Mike Griggs of Ocala.
The final Division 2 Summit Pro-Am Tour events will be September 2-4 at Carolina Dragway.
