Risi Competizione Wins DEKRA Green Award at 12 Hours of Sebring

The Risi Competizone Ferrari 488 took home the

DEKRA Green Award

from the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 19th, 2016. No stranger to the DEKRA Green Award, the team won for being the cleanest, fastest, and most efficient GTLM car on the track.

“We are very proud of our record for winning the DEKRA Green Award in IMSA competition. We won it four times last year, and just recently again at the 12 Hours of Sebring. The Ferrari 488 is probably the most efficient car in the GTLM field. We hope to back up the Sebring DEKRA Green Award with another one at Long Beach, like we did last year,” Dave Sims, team manager, Risi Competizione.

All of the GTLM class teams competing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship must utilize alternative fuels such as ethanol or biodiesel. These alternative fuels are relevant to the world’s automotive manufacturers and energy companies as they develop transportation solutions for the future that are sustainable and have a low environmental impact.

Additional factors established by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPS), and the Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAE) in conjunction with IMSA, are also taken into consideration to score each car.

The next DEKRA Green Award winner will be crowned at the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix in Long Beach. Keep up with each winner by following DEKRA on Twitter (
