IMSA: Riley confirms 2017 P2 order

The first 2017 Riley-Multimatic chassis sale for IMSA's new-look Prototype class has been confirmed.

"It's great to have Peter Baron for the first P2 sale. Starworks [Motorsport] runs a strong team with Peter at the controls there," Bill Riley told RACER. "They won the WEC championship in the past, they won Sebring in the past, and they won Le Mans in the past all in P2, so to have them onboard as the first announced [P2] customer is really great.

"And, obviously, they did really great with our Daytona Prototype in the past, so hopefully we look forward to repeating the history we had with our DP, and they did with their P2 in the past, and jointly get to the front."

No decision has been made at this time on which engine will be packaged with the Riley-Multimatic.
