FE: New Berlin race location set
Formula E officials have confirmed the Berlin round will go ahead with a race on the streets of the German capital. An 11-corner track in the heart of the city will be used instead of the former Temphelhof airport for the May 21 event, which is being used to house more than one thousand refugees.
The 1.26-mile circuit, which requires FIA and Berlin city approval, has been designed against the backdrop of the Alexanderplatz public square.
"It is fantastic news that we have been able to find a new location to race in Berlin," said series CEO Alejandro Agag. "I want to thank everybody who has been involved in making this happen for all their hard work in such a short space of time."
