IMSA: FIA releases final 2016 driver ratings
after the usual uproar from those who were moved from semi-pro to pro status
subsided, the Paris-based sanctioning body reversed many of its decisions. From the final posting from the FIA this morning, a few IMSA regulars stand out. Andrew Davis (pictured), who was moved from silver to gold in November, has been returned to silver. Guy Cosmo, who received the same silver-to-gold bump, has also seen the change vacated and will race as a semi-pro next year.
Porsche Junior ace Connor De Phillippi, Mario Farnbacher, Patrick Huisman, Gunnar Jeanette, Cameron Lawrence, Roman Rusinov, and Jeff Segal are among the other drivers who were reclassified from gold to silver after the FIA reconsidered its original position, or were compelled to act after appeals were filed.
