Performance Tech Motorsports Road Atlanta Pre-Race Report

Performance Tech Motorsports continues its hunt for a win in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge class while continuing its annual support for breast cancer awareness.

The team will wrap up the 2015 season of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at Road Atlanta for the 18th annual Petit Le Mans Powered by Mazda. The lineup for the final round of the Tequila Patròn North American Endurance Cup will include familiar faces. James French, Conor Daly and Jerome Mee will share driving duties for the 10-hour race.Performance Tech has enjoyed its most successful season in the PC class in 2015, with five podium finishes and three TOTAL Pole Awards. The team is carrying momentum into Road Atlanta after finishing second in August at Road America and third two weeks ago at Circuit of the Americas.No. 38 (right) battles with the No. 11.The PC field will be stacked with talent for one of the most popular events of the season. Team Principal Brent O'Neill knows the team must fight even harder to finish up front."We welcome the competition," O'Neill said. "We aren't afraid of a little fight. I think we'll be all right. Some teams are bringing in talented drivers, and that's great for the PC class, but we've had a lot of talent all year. Everyone's just trying to finish as high as they can for the last race."A fourth face will appear on the No. 38 ORECA FLM 09. The #DRINKin3D with @BritoniB ® "Breast Cancer Babe" will be featured in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrated throughout the month of October. The collaboration with the Marietta, Georgia-based #Drinkin3D® owner Britoni Burdett comes from her relationship with Performance Tech as hospitality manager."Breast Cancer Babe" of #DRINKin3D®Performance Tech chooses to don the pink ribbon every October in honor of many of the team's family members and loved ones who have fought the disease. This year the team will have a #Drinkin3D with @BritoniB® station set up in the paddock to sell both custom-painted drink wear and clothing. Half of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen of Greater Atlanta's fight against breast cancer."We're helping out because Britoni is a good friend, and it's a good cause," O'Neill said. "Last year we helped raise awareness for breast cancer with David Ostella. We just like to give back. This is a great opportunity to help out. Just yesterday we did something with the Special Olympics, so we're always looking for these opportunities to help."The Petit Le Mans weekend begins with practice at 11:10 a.m. (ET) Thursday, Oct. 1.
