Formula E avoids British GP clash

Formula E's 2015-'16 season finale in London will take place in July and avoid a clash with Formula 1's British Grand Prix.

Series CEO Alejandro Agag told AUTOSPORT in August he was negotiating a July date, with alternative events in Battersea Park – set to host the British round of the all-electric championship again – being rescheduled to accommodate this.

The second season will therefore finish with a double-header on the weekend of July 2-3, though avoids a clash thanks to the British GP moving to July 8-10.

Confirmation of the date removes one question mark over the London round, but the decision on whether Battersea Park will remain the venue has not yet been decided.

The deadline for Formula E and Wandsworth Council make that decision has been extended however, with both parties now having until December 10 to activate the multi-year contract's break clause.

Other changes to the calendar confirmed at the World Motor Sports Council meeting on Wednesday were bringing the to-be-confirmed round in Mexico City forward a week to March 12, and news that the Paris round could shift a day to April 24.
