
PWC: Clucas tops second GTS practice
Ben Clucas ran the fastest time in Friday's 30-minute GTS practice at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Monterey at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca presented by Cadillac.
At the start of the practice session, track temperatures registered at 79 degrees under mostly clear skies.
Early in the session, Drivers' Championship contender Andrew Aquilante recorded a 1:33.538 in the No. 32 Calvert Dynamics/Phoenix Performance Ford Mustang Boss 302 which held as fastest lap until Kris Wilson in the No. 07 Royal Purple/Orion Energy/LaSalle Solutions/PassTime USA Aston Martin Vantage GT4 ran a 1:33.008 lap to capture the top spot.
With just underĀ 10 minutes remaining in the session, Clucas jumped to the top spot in the No. 36 DonorsChoose.Org Kia Optima with a 1:32.958 lap time, pushing Wilson to the number two spot and Aquilante, with a 1:33.362 lap time, bringing up third.
