UPDATE: Wilson remains in coma with "severe head injury"

Andretti Autosport's Justin Wilson was struck by a flying piece of debris that came off of Sage Karam's Ganassi Racing Chevy when Karam struck the wall exiting Turn 1 on lap 180 of the 200-lap ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.

Karam, who appeared somewhat dazed from the crash, eventually climbed from his car, but Wilson, who was attempting to avoid the debris trailing from Karam's crash, was shown being hit in the helmet by a piece painted bodywork from the No. 8 Ganassi car by the TV cameras.

Wilson's No. 25 Honda then veered to the left, hit the inside wall, and Wilson was shown sitting motionless after the car came to a stop. He was later shown being wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher and was taken to the infield where an emergency helicopter took the Colorado-based Briton to a local hospital for specialized care.

RACER will post any updates as they become available.
