Announcing the 2015-2016 Skip Barber Winter Race Series
Skip Barber Racing School is excited to announce a new season of it's iconic race series. The 2015-2016 Skip Barber Winter Race Series will host 6 iconic events and provide unparalleled opportunities to aspiring professional drivers. With more than $150,000 in prizes at stake, the season promises to attract the best drivers across the globe in one of the biggest stages in grassroots motorsports. Additionally, the champion of the Skip Barber Winter Race Series will receive a fully funded ride into the 2016 Skip Barber Championship Race Series.
Skip Barber Racing School is excited to also announce one of the best career enhancement opportunities in motorsports. Beginning in 2016, Skip Barber Racing School plans to further it's legacy of creating champions by providing a $200,000 career enhancement scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to the Champion of the 2016 Skip Barber Champion Series in the Skip Barber Formula 2000 to be held between April and October 2016.
In addition to the scholarship prize, the Skip Barber Winter Race Series Champion will be awarded the RACER Magazine "Top Gun Award". This unique award will entitle the Champion of the Skip Barber Winter Race Series a full page write-up in one of the most important magazines in racing.
While the 2015-2016 Skip Barber Winter Race Series promises to showcase exciting racing on track, Skip Barber Driver Development will help further the careers of drivers off track. This recently announced initiative will offer eligible Skip Barber Racing School drivers a full suite of talent management services which will aide in launching professional careers.

Beginning in 2016, Skip Barber plans to provide a $200,000 career enhancement scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to the 2016 Champion of the Skip Barber Championship Race Series in the Skip Barber Formula 2000. Whether the driver is destined to be the next Skip Barber Racing School alum to win the Indy 500, or have a career in sportscars, the award will help them make the transition to the next level.The winner will also be invited to the Mazda Road to Indy Shootout with the opportunity to win $200,000 from Mazda toward a USF2000 ride in 2017.
"At Skip Barber Racing School we see this scholarship as a way to keep our race series full of the best talent that North America has to offer" said Director of Competition Casey Carden. The Skip Barber Race Series now offers as much as $400,000 in potential prize package for its 2016 Skip Barber Championship Race Series thanks to the scholarship and invitation to the Mazda Road to Indy Shootout. The 2015-2016 Skip Barber Winter Series Champion will also receive a scholarship to compete for the 2016 Skip Barber Career Enhancement Scholarship and the Mazda Road to Indy Shootout in the Skip Barber Championship Race Series. to be held between April and October 2016.
