NASCAR: No penalties for Johnson team

NASCAR has determined that the Hendrick No. 48 crew did not make an unapproved adjustment of a body panel during a pit stop late in Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte. The sanctioning body did issue written warnings to the team over the incident, however.

Officials reviewed a potential infraction over a possible alteration of the No. 48 car's side skirts ahead of the rear tires. Johnson's crew chief Chad Knaus told FOX Sports 1's "NASCAR Race Hub" program earlier this week that the 48 crew adjusted the right-side skirt on an early pit stop after Johnson's car scraped the outside wall during the race's second segment, and that on-track contact caused left-side damage that the crew attempted to repair by pulling on the body panels on a later stop. "I don't think it was too big of a deal, personally," Knaus said.

At Las Vegas earlier this season, the No. 2 Penske team of of Brad Keselowski was penalized for a side-skirt infraction prior to qualifying, resulting in crew chief Paul Wolfe being placed on probation for the rest of the year.
