PWC: Francis Jr., Goulart, Washay score TC poles at CTMP

Ernie Francis Jr., Elivan Goulart and Travis Washay will be on pole in TC, TCA and TCB respectively for

Friday's Round 4 race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and the Remo Ferri Group

Canadian Grand Prix presented by Replay XD, part of the Victoria Day SpeedFest weekend.

Early on in the 25-minute qualifying session, Cory Fergus in the No. 00 Motorsports PromotionsUSLED/Axis Roofing/AERO/RSS/Motul Porsche Cayman set a fast TC lap with a 1:30.086. He then bettered his time with a 1:29.604. Adam Poland, the No. 33 EASTEX Motorsports Edge Addicts/Majestic Pet 

Mazda MX-5 was second with a 1:30.295 and Francis Jr. in the No. 98 Breathless Racing/Time4Learning Mazda MX-5 was third on the charts with a 1:30.455

In TCA, Jason Wolfe in the No. 36 Wolfe Trucking Kinetic Motorsports Kia Forte Koup set the pace with a 1:34.542. Goulart, in the No. 23 Tech Sport Racing Mazda RX-8 then went to the top with a 1:34.180.

In TCB, Washay, in the No. 30 Indian Summer Racing MINI Cooper set the early pace with a 1:45.280. Mac Korince, in the No. 51 Indian Summer Racing MINI Cooper then went to the top in class with a 1:45.054 eight minutes into the session Francis Jr. then went to the top with a 1:28.784 in TC.

Twelve minutes into the session the red flag came out when the No. 16 HPA Motorsports
Volkswagen Jetta GLI of Alex Welch went off at Turn 5. The session returned to green after the No. 16 car had been removed - seven minutes remained.

Soon after Washay would go to the top in TCB with a 1:44.940. As the checkered flew Francis Jr., Goulart and Washay had secured poles for Round 4. Of note, the fastest laps recorded in each class all eclipsed previous track records set in 2014.

Results are provisional until posted final. TC, TCA and TCB Round 4 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. Friday.
