2016 MX-5 Racecar Tech Talk

Glenn Long, principal of Mazda’s partner in developing the 2016 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car, Long Road Racing, shares some of the technical highlights of the development process.

The test cars of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 racecar that will form the basis of the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup along with the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires, recently had their on-track debut in front of fans and competitors at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. There, and at previous MX-5 Cup rounds at NOLA Motorsports Park, Glenn Long, principal of Mazda's development partner for the ND MX-5 racecar, Long Road Racing, gave presentations on some of the technical bits of the ND MX-5 road car that will make it a great racer, what Mazda is testing on the cars and how the manufacturer and its partners are conducting the development.
