SCCA Formula Lites complete first test

SCCA's new Formula Lites series offers a first glimpse of its potent 2015 Crawford FL-15 open-wheel masterpiece in motion. Taken at the Formula Lites' initial on-track test held in mid-March at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, S.C., this new video shows how much potential these new, state-of-the-art cars will provide its racers this season.

On May 28-30, the 1.7-mile Connecticut Thompson Speedway will be the first stop on an inaugural 2015 season comprised of a six weekend, 12-race schedule. Sanctioned by SCCA's Pro division, the fledgling series is being launched with support and technical partnerships from Pirelli, Honda/HPD, PFC Brakes, Eibach Springs, Fikse Wheels, Bosch and Impact Race Products.

"It is our intention to expose this series and our family of drivers via the finest marketing PR and social media tools that today's high-tech world provides," explained series Managing Co-Partner Ryan Arciero. "Like our first laps on the track, our second video release is just the first steps in a long process toward reaching our ultimate objectives for our teams and corporate partners."

Designed and manufactured to the latest F3 FIA safety specs, the new FL-15 monocoque envelops a 2.4-liter, 16-valve Honda engine and a six-speed sequential gearbox featuring pneumatic paddle shifting. The high-tech approach to open-wheel racing has attracted a wide range of teams and talented drivers – all looking forward to what the immediate future holds.
