NGT Motorsport Ready For Sebring

With a busy season just getting started, this week NGT Motorsport heads to Sebring International Raceway for the first two rounds of the 2015 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama. With some successful off-season testing completed, the team is ready for the competition.

The 2015 season brings two new drivers to the NGT Motorsport lineup. Joe and Lucas Catania, a father and son duo, will make their debut in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. Joe Catania will pilot his #24 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car in the Gold Cup Class, while son Lucas will drive his #26 Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Car in the Platinum Cup Class.

Having previously raced in the Mazda MX-5 Cup, both Joe and Lucas were eager to test their Porsche GT3 Cup cars in the off-season. Winter testing at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, LA, a new venue for the 2015 schedule,

provided a great opportunity for both drivers to shake down their new machines, and to size up the competition.

“It was my first time running my Porsche with the IMSA GT3 cup drivers,” said Joe. “They seem quite seasoned but also considerate of the other drivers. I am looking forward to gaining seat time as well as progressing my skill set to pilot a Cup Car with the proper technique. I am looking forward to a great year.”

Lucas also felt very positive after winter testing. “Learning how to drive a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car coupled with learning a new track isn't the easiest thing to do,” commented Lucas. “I feel much more comfortable with the car and am learning something new with every lap I turn. I feel that I am in a good position for Sebring.”

The 2015 season also marks the return of Mark Llano who will once again race his Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car in the Gold Cup and Masters Class of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.

No stranger to the fierce competition, Llano completed winter testing at NOLA Motorsports Park as well as turning laps at

Sebring International Raceway and COTA in Austin, TX.

"Testing was fantastic,” said Llano. “NGT made sure we were ready to go and we had a great run and learned a lot. We're

really looking forward to the start of the IMSA season at Sebring and continuing our mission of supporting our veterans and their families with every race!

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama kicks off with Round 1 on Thursday, March 19, at 3:50pm (EDT). The green flag for Round 2 falls on Friday, March 20, at 11:10am (EDT). Live streaming of the races can be found at www.imsa.com.
