Miami Formula E practice delayed
Free practice for Saturday's round of the Formula E Championship has been delayed by two and a half hours while the 1.35-mile Miami ePrix circuit is completed.
The first session of non-qualifying practice had been due to start at 8:15 a.m., but ongoing construction means that the cars are not scheduled to go out on track until 10:45. The delays mean that practice has been reduced to one session of 45 minutes, down from one period of that duration and one of 30 minutes.
The last-minute work has been focused on Turn 1, where the track turns left off Biscayne Boulevard. Additional concrete barriers have had to be located in the escape road at this spot.
This area of the track was the last to be closed to traffic and was only handed over to the race officials at 8 p.m. last night.
The race is still scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. local time.
