PWC: Martin fastest in first GTS practice at COTA

The first official practice of the 2015 season for the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class at the Circuit of The Americas, as part of the Nissan Grand Prix of Texas brought to you by Motul, was exciting with three competitors setting their fast laps on their final circuit.

Dean Martin, of Westland, MI, in the No. 50 Rehagen Racing/Picture Cars East, Ford Mustang set the early pace with a 2:18.212 which he bettered by more than a second ultimately turning in a lap of 2:17.187 to lead the session.

Second fastest and the only man to go to the top of the board other than Martin was Kris Wilson, of Monument, CO, in the No.07 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Wilson had to settle for second fastest in the session posting a final time of 2:17.408.

Mark Wilkins, Toronto, ON, in the No.38 Kia Motors America Kinetic Motorsports/Kia Racing, Kia Optima was third quickest with a 2:17.973. Wilkins posted his time on the final lap that saw third through fifth all change hands.

Posting fourth fast time on a last lap flier was Lou Gigliotti, of Dallas, TX, in his No. 28 LG Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with a time of 2:18.391.

Also throwing down his best at the last was Ben Clucas, of Northhampton, London, in the No.36 Kia Motors America Kinetic Motorsports/Kia Racing, Kia Optima with a time of 2:18.465.
