F1: Rosberg in doubt for Friday testing
Nico Rosberg's fitness to participate in the second day of this week's pre-season Formula 1 test at Barcelona is in doubt because of a trapped nerve in his neck.
The injury has already prevented Rosberg from subbing for Mercedes F1 teammate Lewis Hamilton on the opening day of running at the Spanish circuit, after illness forced Hamilton to stop driving after just 11 laps.
Mercedes has recalled reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein from Force India to replace Hamilton, meaning Force India regular Sergio Perez had to begin his test programme earlier than planned.
A Mercedes spokesman confirmed a decision on whether Rosberg would be fit enough to drive tomorrow is "open," but the team remains hopeful he will recover in time to take over driving duties in the W06 on Friday as planned.
