FR3.5 changes British date for MotoGP
The return of the World Series by Renault package to Silverstone in 2015 has been moved as a result of the recent shuffle surrounding the British MotoGP round.
Donington Park's decision not to host MotoGP in place of the Circuit of Wales this year has resulted in Silverstone taking the race back, but that caused a date clash with the Formula Renault 3.5-headlined weekend. That led to Renault and Silverstone agreeing to move the free-ticket event to the following weekend of Sept. 5-6.
Renault Sport Technologies managing director Patrice Ratti said: "Through our close relationship with Silverstone we have been able to quickly find a fully-satisfactory solution. This will allow fans to come in droves on September 5 and 6 to attend this comeback in Great Britain which gathered an average of more than 100,000 people in the last editions."
The new date for the World Series by Renault event means it will take place on the same weekend as the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Silverstone has not hosted a World Series by Renault weekend since 2011, and FR3.5 has not raced at the British GP venue since it supported the World Endurance Championship in 2012.
When the return to Britain was announced late last year, Ratti said that a race at Silverstone was "a big request from the teams".
