Rebel Rock Racing Confirms No. 08 GS Driving Lineup for Sebring
Rebel Rock Racing is picking up at Sebring where it left off at Daytona, with a strong team fielding fast Porsche race cars with win-capable driving lineups. The team is proud to announce that Andy Lally will return behind the wheel of the #08 Porsche 911 in the Grand Sport (GS) class at the second round of the 2015 Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season at Sebring International Raceway on March 20th. For Sebring both the team and Lally himself are happy to be welcoming Dylan Murcott into the fold.
Murcott drove the full 2014 season in the Street Tuner (ST) class in a BMW, and made his GS class debut in a Camaro during the season. Dylan was in the same Camaro in Daytona for the opening round of the series, where he posted a 16th place finish after the car suffered some mechanical difficulties, but showed pace throughout the weekend. This will be Murcotts initial outing with Rebel Rock Racing, and his first behind the wheel of the Porsche.Team Manager Mike Morgan: “Naturally I’m excited to have Andy back, he’s an amazing talent, and can peddle the Porsche as well as anyone. We’ve been paying attention to Dylan all last year where we competed against him in the ST class, he’s a quality young driver that really fits in well with how we like to do things at Rebel Rock.”#08 Driver Andy Lally: “It’s always a bit of a challenge for any driver when you first start to work with a new teammate. However, in this case I've known who Dylan is, and his accomplishments in other series’ and it’s great to have a solid team mate on board going into such a tricky track like Sebring. I learned a lot with the Rebel Rock guys at Daytona, and I think that we can show up to round two of the season with an even better product and perform well. I love this track and can't wait to get the weekend started!"#08 Driver Dylan Murcott: “I am very excited and thankful for this opportunity to drive with Rebel Rock Racing and Andy Lally for Sebring. Rebel Rock is a great team, with a great group of people and I'm ecstatic to be joining them for Sebring. Andy is one of the best drivers in the entire Continental Tire paddock, it's going to be a blast joining him in the #08 Porsche. A big thank you to Jim Jonsin at Rebel Rock and Eric Burch at P1 Groupe for making this happen, round two can't come quick enough!!”
