WTCC: Borkovic switches to Proteam Honda

Dusan Borkovic will switch to Proteam Racing's Honda Civic WTCC for the 2015 World Touring Car Championship.

The Serbian completed his rookie season in the series last year aboard a Campos-run Chevrolet Cruze, and finished runner-up in the reversed-grid race at Suzuka.

One-car operation Proteam had been left without a driver following Shanghai winner Mehdi Bennani's recent defection to Sebastien Loeb's new customer Citroen squad.

"I am starting my second, hopefully better, season with a new team and car," said Borkovic. "I am really grateful to Campos Racing for our cooperation in my debut WTCC season, when I achieved one of the best results in my career by coming second in Suzuka.

"Together with [Honda's car builder] JAS and Proteam I will have to learn fast about the Honda as best I can so I can be ready for the pre-season tests. The most important thing is that I managed to fit in the Honda with my 207cm frame, but I believe they should build a larger cockpit for my size!"

Borkovic will make his Civic debut during official WTCC testing at Barcelona on Feb. 13.
