Bob Stallings Racing to return in 2015
Former TUDOR United SportsCar Championship entrant Bob Stallings Racing stepped away from the series after suffering a devastating crash during January's Rolex 24 at Daytona, and after nearly a year away from the sport, RACER has learned the Texas-based team is preparing for a return in 2015.
Stallings (RIGHT) and longtime sponsor/partner GAINSCO are expected to announce they will field an entry in the Pirelli World Challenge series' GTS class next season with veteran BSR/GAINSCO driver Jon Fogarty behind the wheel.
Stallings, who owns a number of car dealerships, will likely enter a car from an Asian manufacturer with branding from one of his automotive properties. With the new car under construction, and a somewhat early start to the PWC season at Circuit of The Americas, it's unclear whether the BSR/GAINSCO car will make its debut at Round 1, or later in the championship.
Fogarty, who won two Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype titles with BSR/GAINSCO, has also signed to drive for Extreme Speed Motorsports in the World Endurance Championship and TUDOR Championship in 2015. With some conflicts between the WEC, TUDOR Championship and PWC calendars, the team is expected to nominate an alternate driver to take Fogarty's place during clashing weekends.
could come as soon as Wednesday
