WEC: Strakka Dome resumes testing

The Strakka Dome LMP2 coupe has resumed development testing after its entry in the World Endurance Championship finale at Interlagos last month was scratched.

Strakka Racing is in the middle of a three-day test at Paul Ricard with the Nissan-powered S103 and completed more than 500km on Wednesday before moving onto long runs on Thursday.

"It's been great to get back out testing and squeeze in a proper outing with dry running before the Christmas break," said team principal Dan Walmsley. "All indications are that the car is now where it should have been and the developments Strakka has led through the summer have worked. The drivers are reporting that it feels good, provides good confidence and responds to the changes we have made."

Team owner Nick Leventis, who shared the Strakka Dome with Danny Watts and Jonny Kane at Ricard, added: "The car feels really good, with excellent balance, and is progressing well. Each session we are going a bit quicker and are seeing good laptimes, as well as good speed figures at the end of the Mistral Straight."

Strakka had planned to make its delayed entry into the WEC at Interlagos, but was prevented from doing so by homologation issues with the car's head rest.

The team is aiming to have a modified headrest meeting the regulations in the car in January and plans to run file a minimum of one LMP2 entry for next year's WEC.
