WestCoast joins TC3 series field

Leading Swedish touring car team WestCoast Racing will compete in the new TC3 International Series from 2015.

WestCoast intends to field three Honda Civics, built to TC3 configuration by Honda's factory World Touring Car Championship car builder JAS Motorsport. The program will run parallel to WestCoast's Scandinavian Touring Car Championship campaign.

Explaining his decision to enter TC3, WestCoast Racing team owner Dick Jonsson Wigroth said: "TC3 will be both affordable to teams and privateers, with exciting racing and the chance for a national champion to break onto the international scene with the same car.

"The series will visit 12 fantastic race tracks and countries in its maiden season, with the huge bonus of racing at three Formula 1 events. This is a fantastic opportunity and also the perfect way for WestCoast Racing to expand our racing program."

This year WestCoast has run three Dealer Team-supported BMWs in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. All three drivers, Frederick Larsson, Erik Jonsson and Philip Forsman, achieved race wins.
