2015 Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Schedule Announced

Skip Barber Racing School is excited to the announce the schedule for the 2015 MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge. The MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge is a professional racing series designed to launch the career of talented sports car drivers.

In its third season racing alongside the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires, a talented pool of Skip Barber Racing School graduates and Skip Barber Winter and Summer MAZDASPEED Challenge Race Series alumni will compete to take another step up the professional racing ladder to the Mazda MX-5 Cup.

Registration for the series is now open at 800.221.1131. The full season price starts at $75,000 with options available to limit a driver's liability for crash damage. Drivers will compete in equally prepared and maintained Skip Barber Mazda MX-5 Cup cars.

Interested? Book a full season before December 5, 2014 at 5 pm. and you can save $10,000!

The 2015 MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Schedule

 

The 2015 season will consist of six weekends supporting the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, IndyCar, and the NASCAR XFINITY Series. All weekends will be doubleheaders.  

March 18-20        Rounds 1 & 2        Sebring International Raceway

May 1-3              Rounds 5 & 6        Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
July 10-12           Rounds 7 & 8        Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

The 2014 Winner - Californian, Drake Kemper of Toluca Lake took the 2014 championship. Kemper stood on the podium 10 times, having won five of those races. Kemper will be a part of the the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires in 2015!

The 2013 Winner -  Kenton Koch, 19, from Glendora, California had a dominant season in the 2013 MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge. Koch won 9 of the season’s 11 races. Koch worked his way through the Skip Barber Racing School system starting in the Skip Barber Formula 2000 car. He moved from the 2010 Karting Scholarship Shootout over to the MAZDASPEED Challenge in 2012 using the scholarship system to its fullest.

In addition to his MX-5 Cup championship win, Koch was one out of 10 young drivers worldwide to be named to the FIA Young Driver Excellence Academy. He traveled a few weeks ago to Mexico and participated in the FIA Institute Academy Americas selection and won!
