Blancpain GT reveals full 2015 calendar
The Blancpain GT Series has confirmed its 2015 calendar and the bigger prize fund for the season, including incentives for teams to contest both the Sprint and Endurance races.
The Endurance element of the calendar was announced at the Spa 24 Hours this year, with the Sprint schedule revealed to teams by series promoter Stephane Ratel in a meeting in Baku after the final event of the World Challenge weekend.
The BSS calendar includes a new Moscow street race and the debut of Misano, while the 1000km Paul Ricard race is brought forward a week in the definitive BES schedule.
For 2015 the prize fund will be increased to 100,000 euros ($125,000) per round, but teams who contest just the Sprint or Endurance series will only be eligible for 50 per cent, as was also announced at Spa.
"Ideally we would like all teams to contest both series," Ratel said, "but we understand that some prefer to do just one or the other."
The total prize fund for the series, including starting fees for the Moscow and Baku rounds, is a claimed 2.75 million euros ($3.4m). Entrants also have the air freight to Baku paid for them.
