Twins Ricardo and Rodrigo Sperafico will team up behind the wheel of one of the Brazilian-entered BMW Z4s in the Blancpain Sprint Series finale in Baku next month.

The 35-year-old Brazilians have been brought into Antonio Hermann’s BMW Team Brazil to replace Caca Bueno and Sergio Jimenez, who are unavailable for the Azerbaijan event courtesy of a clashing Brazilian Stock Car event.

The Speraficos will share one of the BMW Z4s, while former NASCAR Truck Series driver Miguel Paludo will also join the team to take the the seat alongside Matheus Stumpf regularly filled by Nelson Piquet Jr., who has a Global Rallycross commitment.

Ricardo Sperafico, who raced in both Formula 3000 and Champ Car, said: “I am very happy to be part of this team representing Brazil abroad: it will be a great experience and it will be the first time that I will have driven a GT car.”

Rodrigo described the chance to race alongside his brother “as a unique experience.”

The three BMW Team Brazil newcomers will get to sample the Z4 at Estoril, where the team has its European base, this Friday.
