SCCA President Lisa Noble to race for charity in Pirelli World Challenge
Sports Car Club of America President and CEO Lisa Noble will make her Pirelli World Challenge series debut at series’ Nissan Championship Finale Weekend at Miller Motorsports Park, Sept. 12-13. As part of the series’ charitable initiatives, Noble will race in support of Maxton’s Fight, a charitable foundation supporting children battling disease.
A veteran SCCA racer and multi-time Divisional Champion and top-10 finisher at the National Championship Runoffs in the Formula Vee class, Noble will join Michael Pettiford’s Go 4 It Racing team to pilot the No. 42 Go 4 It Racing Schools/Hawk Performance/Maxton’s Fight Pontiac Solstice in Touring Car for the doubleheader weekend.
“I have watched Pirelli World Challenge grow by leaps and bounds over the last several years, and can’t wait to jump into the fray myself,” Noble said. “From the standing starts to the fender-to-fender racing start-to-finish, this is racing at its best. I thank both the series and my teammate Mike Pettiford, from Go For It Racing, for the opportunity.”
While Noble looks forward to the great racing, she will also use it as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for Maxton’s Fight, a foundation established this year in honor of one of SCCA’s youngest members, three-year-old Maxton Prill, who currently battles leukemia. Maxton’s Fight is a foundation with a mission of raising funds in support of children and families dealing with pediatric diseases.
Maxton Prill is the son of SCCA Vice President of Marketing and Communications Eric Prill and former SCCA Pro Racing and Pirelli World Challenge staff member Robin Prill.
“September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and pediatric cancer has hit our SCCA family very closely this past year,” Noble said. “Pediatric health issues are devastating to families, and Maxton’s Fight has been established to support these families, both financially and through organizations that lift the spirits of these brave children. The series and I are honored to race in support of this.”
