SCCA celebrates Formula F’s 45th Anniversary this weekend

The 45th anniversary of the historic and iconic Formula Ford class, now known as Formula F within the Sports Car Club of America, highlights the SCCA Summer SpeedFest at Barber Motorsports Park, Aug. 9-10. Racing machines from the beginning of Formula Ford through modern day SCCA National Championship Formula F contenders will be joined by Formula 500, Formula Vee and Spec: RaceAtom on this double-header anniversary race weekend.

Many legends, like Bryan Herta, were born from SCCA FF open-wheel racing (pictured). Driving the point home, IndyCar standout and past FF racer Joseph Newgarden will be taking part in this weekend's memorable event as he slips behind the wheel of a Honda-powered Piper Formula F.
