Eriksson title bid hit by penalty

GP3 title contender Jimmy Eriksson has lost his podium finish from

race two at Hockenheim

, which has seriously affected his championship challenge.

Eriksson, who finish third after holding off points leader Alex Lynn, was given a post-race time penalty for failing to slow for yellow flags. He had briefly gone off under the yellows at the Spitzkehre hairpin.

The 20-second penalty dropped him to 15th, and extends Lynn's points advantage to 30 - with the Briton picking up Eriksson's third place.

Saturday's race winner

Marvin Kirchhofer was also penalised by stewards after the race for the clash with Emil Bernstorff at Turn 6 that ended both of their races. He will receive a five-place grid penalty for Hungary next weekend.

Jenzer Motorsport's Pal Varhaug was also issued with a five-place grid penalty after stewards found he had caused a reckless collision with Hilmer's Sebastian Balthasar at Turn 6.
