New push for funds for Challenger II LSR project

Danny Thompson's quest to bring his late father's "Challenger II" back to life 46 years after it was built to chase the World Land Speed Record for piston- and wheel-driven vehicles took a big step toward fulfillment with his team's successful Bonneville test runs last week. However, the project's ongoing search for financing has again reached a critical stage, too, and Thompson posted the following appeal on Facebook:

"OK folks, here is where we are at. We NEED SPONSORSHIP. We have gotten this far but are now out of money and are trying to get to Speedweek. We need a big influx of funds. That person or corporation is out there but I have yet to find them. We have lots of space for a name or names on the side of 'Challenger II'. We also have a donation site at www.thompsonlsr.com/contact.

You too can be a part of history, come along for the ride!"
