F1: Ferrari will be different in 2015, promises Mattiacci

Ferrari Formula 1 boss Marco Mattiacci says the Scuderia will be a "different team" next season, once he has finished his restructuring process.

The Italian car manufacturer's former North America chief joined the F1 squad in April, and has since begun implementing a recovery plan to turn the team's ailing fortunes around. Speaking to reporters after Fernando Alonso finished a distant sixth in Sunday's British Grand Prix, Mattiacci said, "Definitely, we are working to improve because here we are sixth. We are not happy to be sixth. So starting from here, we need to prepare a different team from 2015."

Mattiacci refused to confirm or deny reports that engine and electronics chief Luca Marmorini has left the team, but conceded Ferrari would have to change radically in order to get back to the front of the grid.

"I don't want to point to any individual," Mattiacci said when asked about Marmorini's position in the team. "We are redesigning the team, we are reinforcing the team. I don't make comments about individuals.

"I don't have to make any announcement. The best announcements that a team can make are results.

"Do we need to improve? [Make] continuous improvement? Yes. That is our position. We don't have to make any announcements at the moment."
