World Rally: Hyundai adds Bouffier for Germany
Bryan Bouffier will make his competition debut for the Hyundai World Rally Championship team on Rally Germany in August.
The 2011 Monte Carlo Rally winner is part of the Hyundai test line-up and won French championship event Rally Antibes in the i20 WRC last month, but has not previously contested a top-level event for the team.
"Bryan has been an integral part of the Hyundai Motorsport journey," Hyundai team boss Michel Nandan said. "It was around one year ago that he joined us for the first time as a test driver and we have been fortunate to have him test with us again this season. He knows a lot about the Hyundai i20 WRC and about our team, so he will be a very welcome addition to our driver lineup for Germany."
Bouffier began the 2014 by leading the Monte Carlo Rally on a one-off appearance in an M-Sport Ford, eventually finishing second to Sebastien Ogier. He has also contested a handful of European Rally Championship events, including a runner-up finish on the Acropolis, alongside his Hyundai duties.
Last year's Germany winner Dani Sordo will also be part of Hyundai's lineup for the event as expected, alongside Bouffier and full-season driver Thierry Neuville.
