Andretti Autosport reveals VW Beetle rallycross cars

Ahead of today's Red Bull Global rallycross event in Washington, D.C., the Andretti Autosport team has revealed the  2015 Volkswagen Beetle Global Rallycross cars that its drivers Scott Speed and Tanner Foust will race later this season. Speed will make a couple of parade laps in the car at the Washington race. He and teammate Foust have been driving VW Polo racecars to date, with Speed taking two wins in the team's 7UP-backed entry car.

"I'm looking forward to driving the new race Beetle on the track tomorrow for two laps after after the unveil. It's going to be pretty awesome seeing it in our 7UP branding," said Speed. "I'm actually going to be really looking forward to getting out to the track early, jumping in the front seat and turning it on."

The GRC Beetle is features a 544hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder TSI turbo engine and sequential 6-speed transmission, with a fixed-ratio all-wheel-drive system that features multiplate limited-slip differentials at the front and rear.

The Volkswagen Rallycross DC, the first stand-alone event of the series' 2014 seasonairs live Sunday on NBC at 2:00 p.m. ET.
