Ogier to race Porsche in Austria
Reigning World Rally champion Sebastien Ogier will make his second Porsche Supercup appearance in this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix support, driving for Project 1. Ogier competed for the same team in last year's Monaco GP support race, finishing 13th.
Since then, the Frenchman has gained more circuit experience driving an Audi R8 LMS in the ADAC GT Masters race at Lausitzring last month, where he finished eighth.
"The Porsche Supercup is a fascinating racing series," said Volkswagen's WRC star, "and I really enjoyed my first outing last year in Monaco.
"From what I have heard, Spielberg [the Red Bull Ring] is an iconic racetrack with a very special character. Like a rollercoaster, you head uphill for the first 70 metres after the start, then the rest is all downhill. I imagine that will be awesome in a competitive race in the most powerful one-make cup car in the world."
After the Red Bull Ring race Ogier will head for Poland and the seventh round of the WRC - the recce for which starts on Tuesday morning.
