Alguersuari gets German GT drive
Former Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari will compete in the German ADAC GT Masters this year with the Rowe Racing team. The Spaniard, who is returning to open-wheel racing with Virgin in Formula E this year, will race a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 in the series.
Alguersuari, 24, will make his debut in the championship next week at the Lausitzring. He will be sharing driving duties with German Nico Bastian and tested the car for the first time last week.
"It is great that we have been able to sign a top-class driver like Jaime Alguersuari," said team boss Hans-Peter Naundorf. "It speaks for our team, but also for the ADAC GT Masters, that Jamie has decided to race here.
"Jamie is not only a great asset to our team, but also a valuable addition for the entire series."
