No penalty for Verstappen

Max Verstappen has kept his second place in this morning's Formula 3 European Championship race at Silverstone.

The Dutchman was called before the stewards regarding his pass for third position on Tom Blomqvist on the second lap of the race.

Verstappen, 16, made his initial move on Blomqvist at the Loop, but Blomqvist attempted to draw abreast on the Wellington Straight before they emerged at Brooklands, where there were yellow flags.

Blomqvist told the officials that Verstappen was always just in front, and said to AUTOSPORT: "It's a fair decision."

The Silverstone race weekend is only the fifth in cars for World Karting champion Verstappen, who won races in the Florida World Series - for Formula Abarth cars - earlier this year.
