Jordan tests rallycross Fiesta at Lydden
Andrew Jordan tested the Ford Fiesta RX Supercar that he will use in the AUTOSPORT-backed World Rallycross Championship round at Lydden.
The reigning British Touring Car champion was excited by the performance of the OlsbergsMSE-run Fiesta, and hopes he has the pace to do well in the second round of the new-for-2014 championship in May.
"The car feels really good," said Jordan. "I'm glad we have tested at Lydden, just to get my eye in before the event here.
"I'm confident that we will have good pace, and I think that my race craft will be good - the racing is close which is similar to touring cars, just everything happens a lot faster in the rallycross."
Jordan has realistic hopes for his first rallycross event since 2008, but knows that luck is also required.
"If I could get into the final at Lydden I'd be happy, but it is a big ask," he said.
"I'm under no illusions, it's going to be really tough racing against the guys that do this all the time, but I'm going to give it my all.
"I'm a racer, so of course I want to do as well as possible. But, you do need some luck too. I just want to come here and show well."
Also present at the media day were Jordan's team-mates, permanent OlsbergsMSE drivers Andreas Bakkerud and Reinis Nittis.
Multiple European Rallycross Championship event winner Liam Doran also ran in his Monster Energy Citroen DS3.
