New Peugeot 208 on top in Greece

Peugeot's new 208 T16 dominated day one of the Acropolis Rally on its top-level competition debut, with Craig Breen leading at the end of the leg.

The 208 won four of the six Saturday stages between Breen and Kevin Abbring, his teammate in the Sainteloc-run Peugeot squad.

Both 208 T16s led, as Abbring held a 2.9-second advantage going into the first service. He then suffered a water leak on stage four, forcing the Dutchman to retire a stage later.

Abbring had earlier inherited the lead from Citroen man Bryan Bouffier on the second stage when the DS3 driver, who had topped Friday's superspecial, picked up a puncture.

The Frenchman then produced a spirited comeback in the afternoon to overcome M-Sport Poland's Kajetan Kajetanowicz for second, putting him 14.7sec behind Breen heading into the final day, with the Pole three tenths further back.

Works Skoda driver Esapekka Lappi is fourth, 43sec off the lead, but his teammate Sepp Wiegand retired from fifth with a bent left-rear wheel on SS3.
