Rosberg Mercedes' only Bahrain driver

Nico Rosberg will be the only man in charge of carrying out driving duties for the Mercedes team during the upcoming tire test in Bahrain. The German squad had been expected to use both its racing drivers during the three days of action.

The team said of Monday that Lewis Hamilton will not attend the test however due to training commitments, posting on Twitter: "For those asking, @LewisHamilton has already begun his high-altitude winter training program, which is why he won't be in Bahrain."

The test kicks off tomorrow and finishes on Thursday. Red Bull, Ferrari and Toro Rosso will be the other teams testing.
