Ecclestone still hopes for New Jersey, Mexico GPs in 2015
F1 commercial chief Bernie Ecclestone gave further indication Saturday that the planned 2014 GP of America at New Jersey's Port Imperial was likely to be postponed again, as had been first tipped earlier this month.
At the United States Grand Prix on Saturday, Ecclestone told the newspaper that both New Jersey and Mexico were likely to be set aside for at least another year.
?We're not getting too far with that at the moment," Ecclestone said of the New Jersey event. "We haven't given up. It will be 2015. Definitely not next year."
It was reported on Nov. 3 that both New Jersey nor Mexico would be dropped for 2014 because both events need more time to get their venues ready. At that time, a GP of America spokesperson said that the organization would make no statement on the matter until the FIA World Motor Sport Council announces the final 2014 calendar in December.
